Uber-mind and one of the leaders of the Human Resistance*, Prof Hawkings, has once again launched into the fray on the “Heaven, is it a more valid theorum than a celestial teapot?” scrap…

Not the first time either! Considering that he has been wheelchair bound for decades, diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 21 and given a matter of years to live, he maintains an unfailing logic and dedication to reasoned thought that allows him to say

“I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first,”

Needless to say the pixie peddling, thought for the day gang have launched a fight back drawing on all their academic resources as the Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathon Sachs, (who played manuel in fawlty towers**) mustered all his books and wittily pointed out Prof H had made an “elementary fallacy” of logic.

Chief Rabbi yesterday

Really? A failure of logic? I know there are plenty of things that Prof H may fail at, the high jump or swimming the channel for instance, but logic?

This is the man that reasoned to a conlusion how black holes emit radiation, and then designed experiments to back up his theory which have all subsequently confirmed the expected results. There can be few other men for whom the word genius is so apt. But yet for failing to find any evidence or rational reason to believe is a giant sky creature that creates universes out of boredom, who then goes on to invent such marvellous conditons as say, Motor Neurone Disease for the amazingly intricate creatures he sets forth in the aforementioned universe, for failing to do that, he has failed at basic logic…

I think General Woundwort would do better to keep quiet and not prove himself such a fool.

Chief rabbi today

Secularists are becoming more vocal and to put it simply refusing to put up with this rubbish any more. So be thankful for your tax breaks and being allowed to try to brainwash children in schools, lest Prof H turn his mighty intellect towards crushing religion full time… now wouldn’t that be awesome?

*true for a given value of true
**again, possibly…

Well. we’re off again in the sentience vs mysticism scrap!

First blow was landed by Prof Hawkins, who in a stunning reversal of his previous assertion his best seller “A brief History of Time” that given enough knowledge we might “… know the mind of God…” has now stated that “God did not create the universe”. More precisely he’s put forward a theory as to how the universe kicked off. He reasons, since we can have a working theory as to how the big bang occured there is no need to invent an omnipotent deity to whom blame can be attached for creation.

Off course the fable peddling myth mongers fought back, the Bishop of Swindon, Dr Lee Rayfield, said science “can never prove the non-existence of God, just as it can never prove the existence of God.”, going to prove that just because it is universally accepted that you cannot prove a negative, it doesn’t stop the sky pixie fan club using it as an argument!

Next into the fray was Chief Rabbi Jonathon Sacks, “But there is more to wisdom than science. It cannot tell us why we are here or how we should live. Science masquerading as religion is as unseemly as religion masquerading as science.”

Again, only a glancing blow at best since it is launched from a series of dubious assumptions. Apparently Science is proved inadequate since it cannot answer why we are here? A more than able counter is of course, why do you assume there is a reason we are here? It is somewhat egocentric of a barely evolved simian species to assume that there must be a reason for existence other than cause and effect. Bleak and uncompromising at it is, the answer may turn out to be. We are here simply because we are.

Writing in the Times, the chief rabbi said:
“…There is a difference between science and religion. Science is about explanation. Religion is about interpretation. The Bible simply isn’t interested in how the universe came into being….”

Where to start? Definitions are a good place. Interpretation…
in·ter·pret –verb (used with object)
1.to give or provide the meaning of; explain; explicate; elucidate: to interpret the hidden meaning of a parable.
2.to construe or understand in a particular way: to interpret a reply as favorable.
3.to bring out the meaning of (a dramatic work, music, etc.) by performance or execution.
4.to perform or render (a song, role in a play, etc.) according to one’s own understanding or sensitivity: The actor interpreted Lear as a weak, pitiful old man.
5.to translate orally.

So apparently, religion is there to provide meaning, or to construe. It makes no attempt to actually be true, which is where most atheists, agnostics (all shades of the same colour really) have an issue. Science, of any discipline ties to explain, to get to the truth of the subject.

truth –noun,pluraltruths
1.the true or actual state of a matter: He tried to find out the truth.
2.conformity with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statement.
3.a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths.
4.the state or character of being true.
5.actuality or actual existence.
6.an obvious or accepted fact; truism; platitude.
7.honesty; integrity; truthfulness.
8.(often initial capital letter) ideal or fundamental reality apart from and transcending perceived experience: the basic truths of life.
9.agreement with a standard or original.
10.accuracy, as of position or adjustment.

in fact Prof Hawkins, uber-boffin that he is, has ably demonstrated why science is superior in every regard in one killer upper cut on this occassion. He has changed his mind. He has adapted his theories to take account of new and improved data. He has reasoned to a position, not wished a universe as he would like it to be.

In short he has a conclusion, which takes a piss on having a belief from a very very great height.

NASA Armageddon watch service the Near-Earth Program, based at the JPL have announced that an object that passed close to the Earth was probably artificial. It’s spectral characteristics did not match any known natural phenomenon and its brightness and radar returns suggest the object was only a few metres in size, and the pre-placed probable Alien insurgents suggest this is typical of a rocket booster body. The body transitted the Earth-Moon system much as our planetary probes do to other worlds in the solar system

Alien Probe Plan

Trajectory of the Alien Probe

Of course it would also be an ideal size for an interplantery probe designed to test Earths defences and assess the likelihood of a successful clandestine approach of the Xeno-Fleet to our planet. Having woken the sleeper cells and begun initial testing of Earth’s space defences their dastardly invasion plans (foreseen by Human Hyper-Boffin and figurehead for the fledgling human resistance, Stephen Hawkings) surely cannot be far behind?

The evidence is stacking up of the impending global land grab by the soon-to-be overlords from other worlds. You have just enough time to prepare. Ignore the infiltrated media lies and soporific outpourings of sedative TV designed to turn us all into vegetables ripe for the picking, prepare yourselves and your loved ones for the inevitable galactic conflict.

Good Luck, remember they are already among us and watch the skies.

The alien battle fleet is entering the solar system as we speak. Like all good B-movie flicks (there can be little doubt now these were a product of infiltrated alien propaganda to make us ignore the signs of our impending conquest and abduction as either slaves to the galactic conquistadors or pacification and domestication as a food stuff for the human-scoffing Armageddon-mongers) Our leaders and experts have sat by and done nothing to heed the alarming warnings of global apocalypse as prophesised by mega-boffin Stephen Hawkings, and we now appear doomed to reap the results of our scepticism and ignorance

Already they have turned our own technology against us, using the Voyager 2 probe in a final ironic insult before wiping us from what is soon to be their planet. They have corrupted its peaceful humane mission into that of a twisted xeno-signal emitter broadcasting their fiendishly encrypted call-to-arms back at the Earth, no doubt already activating their human-like sleeper agents to begin their sabotage missions in advance of the mother ships arrival in orbit and our imminent extinction.

The activities of this advance guard have been documented cryptically in the internet based info hub The Register. It’s thinly veiled intel reports for members of the Neo-Luddite Resistance Army list the invaders other attempts to subvert our technology for their own nefarious ends.

A few of us may live to carry on the resistance, in this dark hour we can only hope that ultimately humanity will prevail. Although in the cold logic of science and the hard maths of reason, having seen some of the x-factor should we be allowed to?

The vital work by Uber-brain Hawkings and alien visionary Prof Hausdorf may just have bought us the time we need to prepare and arm ourselves for the looming inter-galactic conflict.

Good Luck, and watch the skies…

Well, according to Stephen Hawkings anyway. Essentially the uber-boffin reckons we should be wary of announcing our presence to any sentient alien lifeforms in case they’re far too keen to pillage planet Earth for our resources. Or, to put it another way, they might be just too like us for comfort. Our history of cultural first contact isn’t exactly a model of ethical behaviour after all. From the Roman enslavement of other races to the European colonisation of America (North and South) time and again humans show their instincts.

Best hope there’s no-one with bigger toys than us out there then?
